welcome to the lab…

Here we are cooking up the latest concepts and experimental prototypes, fresh and untested. Make sure to wear eye protection, and watch your step.

WARNING

The games on this page are extremely rough and unpolished. We are trying out new ideas, but don’t expect to see complete, balanced games. Have fun, and let us know if one of the games here is completely borked.

Investigation Force

Designed as a challenge to create a hidden role deduction game the week of Thanksgiving. It has been tested only a couple of times, and while fun, needs some tinkering. Try it at your own risk.

  • Status: Pretty rough
  • Players: Exactly 4
  • What Is cool
    • Gain clues to deduce who among you is the spy
    • Play cards in secret to detain, reveal, or assassinate other players
    • quick play time mitigates issues with player elimination
  • What needs Improvement:
    • lots of setup for such a short play time
    • 4 pages is a lot of cards for print and play

Requires 4 players

Kitchen Witches

I wanted a game I could share with coworkers who weren’t as into board games as I was. It is simple, quick, and frantic in some ways. Enjoy!

  • Status: In Casual Development
  • Players: 2-?
  • What is cool:
    • Easy to understand, and quick to play, so a good pick for people who don't play as many board games
    • Push-your-luck mechanics where other players benefit from you taking risks, so they will cheer you on (or encourage terrible decisions)
    • set up and tear down are lightning fast
  • What Could Be Improved:
    • mechanic to mitigate bad luck
    • Could scale better with player count
